Updated 2026-07-27 exit-during-pre-roll

This metric applies to ads delivered with Client-Side Ad Insertion (CSAI), during which the pre-roll ad plays before the video starts. Currently, ads delivered with Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI are not considered in this metric calculation.

Exit During Pre-Roll  is available in Trends as a time series of the total number of exits during pre-roll ads that occurred during the selected time period and as a distribution of pre-roll exits across buckets of ad playing time.

Secondary filters help to focus analysis of pre-roll exits on specific time period buckets within the filtered data and apply the Unique Devices with Attempts secondary metric for enhanced dimensional comparison between all attempts and the unique devices with attempts.

Dimensions Use the Trends dimensions to filter this metric for enhanced root cause analysis across dimensions, such as assets, ad server, and ad technology. For example, limiting data to specific ad technology and browser dimensions can narrow the root cause of higher pre-roll ad exits to a specific ad server or browser type.
