Minutes Unique Device

The Minutes/Unique Device metric is calculated by dividing the Ended Plays Duration of playing time in a selected time range by the number of Unique Devices with Ended Plays in that time range.

Since both   Ended Plays Duration and Unique Devices with Ended Plays are 'Ended' type metrics, Minutes Per Unique Device is an 'Ended' type metric. That is, it counts playing time when a viewing session ends, and counts devices only when they have at least one Ended Plays.

Minutes/Unique Device is available in Summary and Time Series formats.

Note: Due to high cardinality of devices in most publisher networks, unique device metrics (Unique Devices w/ Ended Plays, Unique Devices w/ Attempts, and Minute Per Unique Device) use an approximation algorithm for efficient calculation (de-duplication) of device counts. As a result, unique device metric values may show slight differences when comparing values in Summary metrics, time series, and dimension tables, for example Unique Devices with Ended Plays showing a higher value than Ended Plays, or Unique Devices with Ended Plays dimension total showing slightly more than the sum of the listed dimension entity totals.

Dimensions Use MetricLens dimensions to filter this metric by metadata segments for enhanced root cause analysis. For example, limiting data to specific ISP and player dimensions can narrow the root cause of lower minutes per unique devices to a known provider and player type.
