This metric is the sum of the session pause time.

Paused Time is an 'Ended' type metric that is calculated only for the sessions that have ended.

Paused Time is aggregated across the intervals of the selected time period.

Note: This metric also includes pause times that occur before the video joins, along with time for pauses that occur during ads delivered with SSAI, but not pauses that occur during CSAI delivered ads.

Distributions

  • Paused Time vs Ended Plays Distribution: a distribution by preset buckets, where each bucket is the Paused Time that occurred for the respective amount of Ended Plays.

  • This distribution can help the publishers understand which bucket of paused time has more plays to make a better decision on the type and length of the advertisements played during the content playback.

You can use metric filtering to diagnose only the sessions that had high percentage of dropped frames. For more details on metric filters, see Metric filtering.

Metric Adjustment

Continuous pause periods that last for more than 90 seconds are considered long pauses and excluded from the Pause Time metric. Long pause time includes the time for pauses that occur during ads delivered with SSAI but does not consider pauses that occur during CSAI delivered ads.

The amount pause time and frequency of pauses during individual sessions can be viewed in the Viewer Timelines.
